Rest in Peace William Goldman – MAGIC, MISERY Writer Passes Away at 87

It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of William Goldman, the American novelist who became a screenwriter for some fantastic films over his 50+ year career, including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Chaplin, Papillon, Marathon Man, Absolute Power, and more. He also wrote the novel and screenplay for The Princess Bride, often considered one of the greatest films in cinema history.

But where horror fans will know his work best with titles such as Misery, Magic, The Ghost and The Darkness, and Dreamcatcher. Goldman knew how to write interesting characters and build tension with words alone, a feat that helps his films stand tall amongst an ocean of offerings.

We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family in this very sad time. We also wish to thank Mr. Goldman for the wonderful films he has given us over the years.
