AGONY UNRATED Launches On Steam

Although it was undoubtedly one of the most disturbing games ever made, this year’s Agony actually had to be slightly censored in the US to avoid an Adults Only rating from the ESRB. However, with this being Halloween, publisher Madmind have now finally released released the uncut version of the game on Steam, so if you felt that Agony wasn’t already sickening enough, you can now enjoy Agony Unrated. The reason why it took so long for the game to be available in its uncut form was due to pesky legal issues, which now appear to have been resolved.

Those who already purchased Agony on Steam will be able to upgrade to Agony Uncensored at no extra cost, whereas everyone else will need to fork over $14.99. The uncensored version will not be availalbe on consoles for now because of the difficulties in finding a publisher willing to distribute such a title. So console owners will have to make to with the M-rated version, which will also soon be released on the Nintendo Switch. Madmind have promised to keep fans updated about the possibility of the uncut version coming to consoles, so watch this space.

In addition to being nastier, Agony Unrated also features a number of other significant gameplay-related improvements over the original release, which are detailed along with the launch trailer below. If you would also like to get an insight into the mind of someone responsible for making such a horrific game, you can also check out our interview with Madmind head Tomek Dutkiewicz.
