Just a few days ago we brought you word of when you’ll be able to see Uwe Boll’s fantasy sequel In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds, starring Dolph Lundgren waging battle with the forces of evil in a non-comical Army of Darkness sort of way. Now we have a brief trailer bringing us our first look at this unlikely sequel. One thing is certain: A lot of people are going to run around the woods sword fighting.
In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds (or as it is being called in France, King Rising 2) will arrive on US DVD and Blu-ray December 27th, a belated Christmas present from our friends at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables, Masters of the Universe) stars as Granger, a lethal ex-Special Forces soldier who finds himself transported back to a mystical age of sorcery, dragons, and savage hand-to-hand combat. This modern-day warrior has been summoned to defeat the forces of darkness and fulfill an ancient prophecy. But as he fights his way to the truth, Granger learns no one can be trusted — and one wrong move could cost him not only his life but the future of his world.
With supporting performances from Natassia Malthe (Bloodrayne, Lake Placid), Lochlyn Munro (The Benchwarmers, White Chicks), and Aleks Paunovic (This Means War, I Spy), the In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds Blu-ray and DVD are loaded with bonus material as follows:
A short trailer touting the French DVD release of this latest offering from Uwe Boll has manifested on YouTube. Though the voiceover and on-screen text are not in English, all of the dialogue from the film is so this should give you a good idea what to expect. Mostly what you can expect is a whole lot of sword fighting in the woods, Dolph Lundgren looking confused, an appearance by an anorexic dragon, and if you thought Burt Reynolds looked out of place as a king in a sword & sorcery flick then, just wait until you see a bearded Locklyn Munroe wearing a crown. Suffice to say this is currently at the top of my must-see list.
