GUNSHIP Release Wonderful Video For “When You Grow Up, Your Heart Dies”

One of my favorite albums in recent years was the self-titled album from UK synthwave group Gunship. Packed with 80’s-infused goodness, it’s an album that has gotten regular rotation in my musical journeys. Hence why I’m so excited for Dark All Day, the group’s latest album which just dropped today! Featuring 13 brand new tracks that include guest appearances from Kat Von D, Tim Cappello, Indiana, and more, this collection has been in the works for over two years and brings fans a whole new slate of catchy, powerful music that will undoubtedly stir feelings of nostalgia.

Along with their new album dropping today, the band has released an official video for “When You Grow Up, Your Heart Dies”. In it, fans from around the world have recreated some of their favorite scenes from 80’s films, such as Conan the Barbarian, Blade Runner, Die Hard, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Ghostbusters, The Shining, Jaws, and much more. It’s not only a testament to the love Gunship fans have for the group but also the staying power of the films of our childhood. These movies mean something to everyone who participated, as evidenced by the creativity, passion, and joy each clip shows. The fact that Gunship was able to tap into that love says a lot about their relationship with their audience. This video is a celebration – one of film, music, and love of life – from beginning to end and I, for one, am here for the whole party.

If you want to pick up a copy of Dark All Day (and you certainly should), you can get one through various means right here.
