What Would Paul Feig’s GHOSTBUSTERS 2 Have Looked Like?

One of the (strangely) more controversial reboots of the past few years was Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Not sure why an all-female Ghostbusters got so many up in arms, but all the same, I think it’s safe to say at this point we will never see Paul Feig’s sequel.

But what would Ghostbusters 2 have looked like?

Well, Feig recently spoke about just that on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast saying, “I definitely wanted us to go to another country. Because when we were doing the press tour, the international press tour, every country the reporters would come with these drawings or artist renderings of that country’s ghosts. And every country has these really wild ghost stories and ghost characters that they scare kids with or keep people in line with. I really loved the idea of the Ghostbusters going to, like, Asia.”

I agree that taking the Ghostbusters international is probably the best way to go if there is another sequel or reboot down the line. Let’s see some other cultures represented here, guys. There is quite literally an entire WORLD of cool shit out there to mine for sequels and reboots and sequels to reboots.

What do you think of Fieg’s idea for Ghostbusters 2? Make sure to let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

Synopsis:

Paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitudes, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.
