Sylvester Stallone Says Filming on RAMBO 5 Is Starting Soon

The world may be changing, but John Rambo is still the King of Cold War violence!
Based on the David Morrell novel First Blood, the Rambo franchise launched in 1982 and has spawned 3 sequels so far; each installment features Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a Vietnam veteran who channels his PTSD in order to release his wrath on ne’er-do-wells around the world.
1982’s First Blood was followed by Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985 and Rambo III in 1988. 2008’s Rambo saw Stallone pulling triple-duty as the star, director, and script co-writer. Now, a decade later, Sly is hinting that production will begin soon on a 5th chapter in the Rambo saga. In an Instagram post, he captioned a picture of Rambo with:
“Starting soon and getting very excited. The world may be changing but not him. NOTHING IS OVER!”
While plot details on IMDB are scant, our friends at Screen Rant dropped a ton of information regarding Rambo V last August:
After relocating to the United States, Rambo now lives in Arizona at the family ranch and will team up with a journalist to rescue young women from a sex trafficking ring. Notably, Rambo V will be the first of the franchise films to be set in America since the original, thus allowing the filmmakers to address relevant societal themes. With Stallone as the Rambo V screenwriter, fans can likely expect a mix of traditional action tropes and modern references as Rambo engages with a new gang of villains in the digital age. Rambo V‘s original subtitle was reportedly “Savage Hunt,” but Stallone and company ultimately decided to keep it simple.

Synopsis:
Having long-since abandoned his life as a lethal soldier, John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) lives a solitary life near the Thai border. Two weeks after guiding a missionary (Julie Benz) and her comrades into Burma, he gets an urgent call for help. The missionaries have not returned and although he is reluctant to embrace violence again, Rambo sets out to rescue the captives from the Burmese army.
