“Fannibals” to Gather in October for Fest & Feast

It’s been 3 years since Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal was canceled after a paltry 3 season on NBC, and the show’s most ardent fans are still in mourning. Known as Fannibals, their ranks have only grown in the years since Hannibal went off the air; in this era of cookie-cutter horror TV, at a time when once-powerful flagships like The Walking Dead have grown stale, Hannibal remains unique, occupying an unlikely intersection between uncompromising brutality and high art.
Not ones to wallow in despair, Fannibals have announced plans for the 2nd Annual FannibalFest set to take place in Toronto this October! It sounds like an unmissable experience for fans of the series. Here’s the full press release:
TORONTO, ON, July 2018 – The second annual FannibalFest will take place from October 11 – 14, 2018 at the Marriott Toronto Airport hotel.
Although the show went off the air in 2015, the Fannibals’ love remains strong, and it is this enthusiasm that’s at the heart of FannibalFest Toronto. Last year’s special guests included actor Aaron Abrams (Blindspot), Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall), Demore Barnes (12 Monkeys), and Martha DeLaurentiis (Red Dragon)
FannibalFest 2018 offers a wide variety of fun-filled, fan-centric events and activities, including:
- This year’s lineup of special guests includes Hannibal Cast Members Scott Thompson (Jimmy Price), Aaron Abrams (Brian Zeller), Hettienne Park (Beverly Katz), Hannibal Director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), artist and Hannibal food stylist Janice Poon (The Handmaid’s Tale, American Gods), Hannibal fights/stunts coordinator Master Tommy Chang (X-Men, Robocop), and horror baker extraordinaire Annabel de Vetten (Conjurer’s Kitchen). FannibalFest 2018 is an annual Hannibal convention held in North America for fans (“Fannibals”) of the 2013 – 2015 television series created by Bryan Fuller. The convention is managed by a non-profit group comprised of fans of the series.

Synopsis:
Gifted criminal profiler Will Graham has a unique way of thinking that allows him to empathize with anyone, including psychopaths. But while helping the FBI pursue a particularly complicated serial killer, he decides he could use some help and enlists the brilliant psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter. The two form a partnership and it seems that there is no villain they can’t catch together, but Lecter harbors a dark secret. His own brilliant mind has gone to the dark side and he has more in common with the criminals they hunt than Will could possibly imagine.
