Baldwin Joins Phoenix’s JOKER as Batman’s Father

Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker standalone original film is heating up. Thus far we know the film co-stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron, and Frances Conroy as the Joker’s mother.
And today we have word via Deadline that Alec Baldwin is set to play Thomas Wayne aka Batman’s father. This is pretty much perfect casting in my eyes as Baldwin was almost the caped crusader himself in Tim Burton’s Batman back in 1989.

This Joker is directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Silver (8 Mile). It’s produced by Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Wolf of Wall Street) and Richard Baratta is an executive producer.
Cameras roll on September 10th, and the film hits October 4, 2019.
