Be Afraid to Swim Again With These Exclusive JAWS: THE RIDE Photos

Horror historian Dustin McNeill (Phantasm Exhumed: The Unauthorized Companion, Slash of the Titans: The Road to Freddy vs Jason) has recently released his latest book Adventures in Amity and it’s all about Jaws: The Ride, the Universal Studios ride that terrified and thrilled audiences for decades. With over 200 photos and more than 30 interviews spread across its near-300 pages, the book has everything you could ever want to know about a ride that was a huge part of many lives.

Today, we’re celebrating McNeill’s release (buy it on Amazon) by giving you readers five exclusive images from the book. These images show you the shark being built, the track it rested on, a beautiful shot of it in action, and more.

Adventures in Amity contains over thirty new interviews with the ride’s designers, engineers, and skippers for unprecedented insight into its creation and operation. Hear the untold story of the Jaws ride for the first time ever from those who were actually there!

I think I can speak for many of us when I say that Jaws had an enormous influence on me. Seeing it at a young age basically ruined open water swimming for years to come and I still feel a sense of trepidation when I jump into a pool, as silly as that might sound. The impact of Jaws cannot be denied. Generations have feared the depths of the ocean because of that one movie.
