A Couple of Music Playlists to Get You in the Halloween SpiritWe’re always walking a fine line when it comes to music news here on Dread Central, but a couple of pretty cool music playlists geared toward Halloween crossed our desks this week so we thought we’d share them with you guys. Whether your tastes run more toward “Chillers” or “Thrillers”, we think you’ll find something you like. Read on for the details, and give them a listen.

PLAYLIST: Halloween Chillers
From Carter Maness: Yes, I know you love a good costume. And really, what’s better than going crazy, hopping from party to party, dancing and fighting for bar position? I take a different attitude. Halloween is all about darkness and getting legitimately spooky. I’ll save the dancing for next week. In the meantime, here are some favorite Halloween Chillers (some spooky, all sweet) from Creep, Dawn Golden & Rosy Cross, Chairlift, The Field, and more.

PLAYLIST: Halloween Thrillers
From Hillary Kaylor: Chillers are well and good, but let’s face it: Stopping at spooky is kind of weak. For me Halloween is strictly about screams and sweat, straight-up thrills, nightmarish parties, and sweet sweet (ear) candy. The louder, the weirder, the filthier, the better. Between witchy Purity remixes, Hussle Club dubstep, blinded-by-blood Atari Teenage Riot cries, and Koralleven’s rave horsewhip skinning Britney Spears, our Halloween Thrillers playlist will prepare you for the darkest day of the year. And when it comes, you best dance ‘til you die.

Let us know what you think of these choices, and share some of your favorite Halloween tunes in the comments section below.
