Carpenter’s BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA Score Hits Vinyl via Mondo

Looks like John Carpenter’s classic soundtrack for Big Trouble in Little China is being reissued on vinyl by Mondo for the first time in 30 years.

The 2xLP, 180-gram reissue comes in two colors: a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive “clear lightning bolt” version (only 500 pressed) and a red vinyl available to purchase later through Mondo.

The score is composed by director John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York) in association with frequent collaborator Alan Howarth. James Plotkin remastered the reissue, which features artwork by Phantom City Creative. We’ll let you know when there is an official release date.

Synopsis:

Kurt Russell plays hard-boiled truck driver Jack Burton, who gets caught in a bizarre conflict within, and underneath, San Francisco’s Chinatown. An ancient Chinese prince and Chinatown crime lord has kidnapped a beautiful green-eyed woman, who is the fiancee to Jack’s best friend. Jack must help his friend rescue the girl before the evil Lo Pan uses her to break the ancient curse that keeps him a fleshless and immortal spirit.
