Making its East Coast premiere at this year’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival will be Ueda Shinichiro’s One Cut of the Dead, a Japanese horror/comedy that plays with audience expectations and creates a fascinating story that is as gory as it is delightful!
To give you a glimpse into the movie, we’ve got two exclusive stills that each tell of something very different. One shows a director holding a camera gleefully while a zombie swings a wooden stick towards his head. The other shows a woman, clearly terrified, as she covers her mouth while peering around a corner. Something is certainly amiss here…
“Things go badly for a hack director and film crew shooting a low budget zombie movie in an abandoned WWII Japanese facility, when they are attacked by real zombies.”
Written and directed by Ueda Sinichiro, One Cut of the Dead stars Yuzuki Akiyama, Takuya Fujimura, Ayana Goda, and Takayuki Hamatsu.
