Rest in Peace: Director and Title Designer Richard Alan Greenberg Passes Away at 71

Sad news as it’s been confirmed that Richard Alan Greenberg passed away several days ago at age 71.

Greenberg’s involvement with film is something that many of us might not even recognize or think much about until our attention is drawn to it: he worked on creating some of the greatest title designs in movie history. Some titles he worked on include Predator, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Alien, Altered States, Independence Day, Seven, and more. His company R/Greenberg, which was launched with his brother Robert, also helped to provide effects for films like Ghostbusters, Die Hard, and The Silence of the Lambs, amongst others.

On top of his work in title design and effects, Greenberg also directed an episode of Tales From the Crypt and the 1989 family horror film Little Monsters.

We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends in this sad time.
