HEREDITARY Officially Box-Office Hit
Last weekend writer-director Ari Aster’s horror flick Hereditary hit theaters and scored a more than respectable $13 million opening weekend. But… the film also score a fairly horrendous D+ Cinemascore rating as well… Ouch.
So how did the film do in its second weekend?
Not bad, actually. Yes, despite the horrible Cinemascore rating, Box Office Mojo reports the film still managed to gather up a strong $7 million in its second weekend.
This was enough to land the film in 6th place overall for the weekend and is a mere 48% drop from its opening (which is a fairly standard drop these days). The film has now grossed over $27 million after just ten days in domestic release, and considering it was made for just $10 million, the horror film is a bonafide box-office hit!
