How Did HEREDITARY Perform at the Box Office This Weekend?

Writer-director Ari Aster’s first horror film, Hereditary, hit theaters this past weekend; and it looks like it did relatively well at the box office, scoring an opening weekend of $13 million. This places the film in fourth place behind Ocean’s 8Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Deadpool 2.

And speaking of horror at the box office, Blumhouse and writer-director Leigh Whannell’s sci-fi-horror-action flick Upgrade (trailer below) hung on in the Top Ten, landing in 9th position in its second weekend with $2.2 million and a total of $9.2 million thus far. Not bad!
