After a long, long wait and days of teasing teaser and images, it’s finally here: the trailer for Blumhouse’s Halloween is upon us and we get to see Michael and Laurie square off for the last time.
A new take on the franchise, Blumhouse’s Halloween ignores the films after John Carpenter’s 1978 original and tells the story from a new angle, one where Michael and Laurie were never related. Instead, Michael survived the barrage of Strode’s bullets and has been locked up in a psychiatric facility ever since. But after his escape, he has only one thing on his mind: finishing what he started all those Halloweens ago.
Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green based on a script he wrote with Danny McBride. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode as does Nick Castle as Michael “The Shape” Myers. They are joined by Will Patton, Andi Matichak, and Judy Greer. Halloween creator John Carpenter is on board as executive producer and composer. It comes out in theaters on October 19 this year.
