Here’s Your First Taste of Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN!

This Friday will see the release of the trailer for Blumhouse’s Halloween, which is a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 slasher. In anticipation of that, it seems that Blumhouse couldn’t wait to give us at least a little taste of what’s to come, so they’ve released a short teaser clip that’s little more than Michael Myers’ mask and some dialogue overtop, including Jamie Lee Curtis saying, “You don’t believe in the boogeyman? You should.”

The new Halloween brings back Laurie and Michael but also leans into pop culture’s current fascination with true crime (see also: Making a Murderer, Serial). A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.

Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green based on a script he wrote with Danny McBride. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode as does Nick Castle as Michael “The Shape” Myers. They are joined by Will Patton, Andi Matichak, and Judy Greer. Halloween creator John Carpenter is on board as executive producer and composer. Michael Myers returns to the screen on October 19, 2018.
