Amusement Park Slasher HELLFEST Moves Up to September

Director Gregory Plotkin’s upcoming amusement park slasher flick Hellfest was all set for a Halloween release this October. But today we have word the film is switching up its release date. Yes, Deadline just reported that the film will now be moving up two weeks and landing in theaters September 28 instead of its original October 12 date.

The film was originally set to go up against the much-anticipated sequel Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween, but now we won’t have to make such a hard choice that weekend. Thanks, CBS/Lionsgate!

I’m especially excited to check out this film considering it stars Bex Taylor-Klaus from MTV’s Scream: The TV Series. I was a big fan of that series and it’s good to know the actress is keeping busy after the show was rebooted for season 3.

Hellfest is directed by Gregory Plotkin produced by the legendary Gale Anne Hurd. It stars Bex Taylor-Klaus, Amy Forsyth, and Reign Edwards. Phillip Kobylanski is overseeing the project for Valhalla Entertainment. Alex Ginno and Mark Ross are overseeing the project for CBS Films.

The film is set for release September 28.

Synopsis:

A masked serial killer turns a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal Halloween playground while three friends (Forsyth, Edwards, Taylor-Klaus) race to save the patrons who believe that it is all part of the show.
