Blumhouse’s SPAWN Reboot Casts Lead?
Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane’s new live-action Spawn flick is currently casting and today we got word on just who might be playing Spawn/Al Simmons in the new flick.
Yes, The Hashtag Show reports that Jamie Foxx is in talks to take on the role which – as opposed to the 1997 film – will not be a leading role this time around.
I think Foxx is a solid choice for the role, but being that the role is smaller than one might expect in the new film – and considering much of that screentime would be under a mask and/or heavy make-up – I’m wondering if Foxx will still be up for taking on the role. We’ll see…
This is all still a rumor at this time so take this news with a grain of hellbound salt, but we will let you know as soon as we hear more on the film’s casting.

Spawn (1997) synopsis:
Covert government assassin Al Simmons (Michael Jai White) is killed after being double-crossed by his boss, Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen). Upon arriving in Hell, Simmons is offered an opportunity to return to Earth if he’s willing to lead an evil army. He accepts and is reincarnated as a “Hellspawn” — a twisted, horribly disfigured version of his former self. However, Spawn serves as a force of good, much to the dismay of the Devil’s henchman, a wicked clown (John Leguizamo).
