With The TV Series Coming Soon, Will There Ever Be a TREMORS 7?
On May 1st Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (aka Tremors 6) hits Blu-ray, and wouldn’t you know it, there is already talking about a seventh entry going on at Universal.
Yes, Michael Gross recently sat down with our buddies over at B-D and talked about the new film, and then went and dropped some info on a possible Tremors 7.
“Believe it or not, Universal wants to talk about a seventh,” Gross said. “It’s just the beginning but I have a very strong idea about it. They tell me I’m not at liberty to discuss it right now but it will also be, if it even happens, this is ridiculously premature, they just like to talk about these things in case they want to pull the trigger quickly on something.”
He continues: “So they’re actually preparing and talking to writers. That’s far from meaning it’s ever going to be made, but it’s also putting Bert in a place we’ve never seen him before. More personal vulnerability along with the monsters. I just like to put Burt in uncomfortable situations.”
But will Tremors 7 interfere with the Tremors: TV Series starring Kevin Bacon?
“No, I’ve not heard a thing from that I truly do think Kevin is doing his own thing,” Gross said. “Universal is so big, they have one part of the company doing one thing and another part of the company doing another. That is truly almost in competition with itself. Can you think of a better example of a conglomerate? It’s so big, one hand is doing something separate from the other hand. So that’s just the nature of the beast. This has nothing to do with me. I was never asked to be a part of it. I have no idea what’s going on. Just what I hear. I just know Kevin wants to revisit that character all those years later and I haven’t the slightest idea.”
