Okay, even though we don’t normally do this kind of stuff here at Dread Central, Doctor Gash is your buddy and always looking out for you. So here’s a real quick disclaimer: If you hate any of the following – boobs, bloody weapons, laughing, or fun – please do yourself a favor and avoid the film Know Models Were Harmed because it contains all four of those things.

The clever filmmakers of Know Models Were Harmed contacted the good Doctor with the hope of getting some love for their trailer. After I realized I wasn’t being solicited for an online sexcapade, I thoroughly enjoyed their work, as I’m sure you will as well. It’s got all the necessary ingredients for a kickass, good time horror movie, not to mention the best title for a scary movie since Dead Hooker in a Trunk.

The film was written and produced by Steve Wolsh, directed by Jackson Sciarii, and stars Wolsh, LeeAnna Vamp, Serenity Risvik, Meghan Perkins and Jessican Benson.

”In making Know Models Were Harmed, we set out to make a darker and more intense slasher flick than had been made in recent years, without losing what makes horror fun, which in my mind is blood, guts, tits, and gore with the occasional comic relief,” said writer/producer Wolsh.

“To those ends everything was filmed as method as possible. A little less than a year ago Jackson Sicarri dropped out of San Francisco Academy of Art and I quit my job to make this movie. We completing the feature in June of this year.

“During filming we went to great extremes to keep the story and plot under wraps,” Wolsh continued, “shooting many scenes in sets closed to everyone but essential cast and crew, and despite the low budget we went so far as to even shoot extra scenes and two alternative endings that Jackson and I had no intention of ever using in the actual film. It’s actually kind of funny that three of the actresses in the movie couldn’t tell who it was that actually killed them in the movie because they really don’t know. They’re in the movie but will have to buy a ticket like everyone else to know who the killer is.”

The trailer gives off a real Tucker and Dale vs. Evil feel (a high compliment if there ever was one), but if you watch closely, you may agree that, although fun on the surface, this film has a real dark side to it. The trailer has a kickass song provided by Josh Bassett as well. But enough from me; do yourself a favor and check out the trailer for Know Models Were Harmed.
