Listen to Sean Spillane’s “Distracted” from The Woman Soundtrack

Lucky McKee’s controversial horror film The Woman is opening in limited theaters October 14th, but in the meantime we have a sneak peek of “Distracted”, the first single from the film’s soundtrack, available for you right now! The eerily calm, dark yet melodic and powerful song will be released tomorrow, September 15th, with the full soundtrack following soon after on October 1st from ModernCine.
The Woman Motion Picture Soundtrack features music and lyrics from indie veteran Sean Spillane. Spillane, best known for his time in Subpop’s critically acclaimed band ARLO, his role in electro-pop/rock band Midway, and soundtrack work on films such as The United States of Leland, blends synth pop, Americana roots and an aura of sinister melodies to capture the dark and gruesome atmosphere of Halloween’s most anticipated film.
Spillane produced, wrote and recorded the songs for the film while on location during the shooting of The Woman in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, actually working in the music room of the local high school while the crew shot in the gymnasium, which they converted into a soundstage. He played guitar, bass, piano, keyboards and also sang on all of the songs included on the soundtrack album.

Synopsis
The Woman is the last surviving member of a feral clan that has roamed the Northeast Coast for decades. When the last of her family is killed in a battle with the police, The Woman finds herself alone, severely wounded and vulnerable. Unfortunately, she is now a far too easy prey for local hunter, successful country lawyer and seriously disturbed family man Christopher Cleek. With his twisted set of ideals, Cleek decides to embark upon a deranged project – to capture her and “break” The Woman – a decision that will soon threaten the lives of Cleek, his family and The Woman.
