Psychological Horror Game The Piano Releasing This Year After Five Years in Development
After a whole five years in the making, the indie horror game The Piano will finally be launching on Steam later this year.
The Piano takes place just after the events of World War I, with a pianist named John Barnerway having to search the streets of Paris for clues to clear his name after three brothers die a series of mysterious deaths. With this being a horror game, the player will have to contend with sinister foes as well as delving into the darkest corners of John’s mind.
There’s also going to be full voice acting, which should add an extra layer to the psychological horror experience.
In a statement director Jonathan Stemmildt of Mistaken Visions describes how he feels as the long development process finally starts to draw to a close: “Five years ago, I had the idea of making a horror game that wasn’t just about the scares, but which featured a deep and personal story that players could become emotionally invested in. It was my first game, and I never really expected much to come of it – but suddenly, something I dreamed about for years is becoming reality, and time is just flying by. It feels great!”
Although it doesn’t yet have a firm release date, we can look forward to playing The Piano on Steam before the year draws to a close. To learn more in the meantime, visit:
