The minutes are ticking away until the 8th Annual Rock and Shock in Worcester, Massachusetts, and updates are starting to come fast and furiously (like an angry greyhound in heat). The festival is scheduled for October 14-16, and we’ve gotten word of two more guests being added to the already impressive list as well as a world premiere film. Read on, New Englanders. Like having the Red Sox and Patriots dominating their respective sports isn’t enough. Now you get the most kickass horror convention in the Northeast as well. Well played, Worcester. Well played.

Rock and Shock gets RowdyWe’ve got to start the announcement with the addition of Uncle Creepy’s hero (just look how ridiculously happy he is standing next to him), “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, to the guest list. You read that right; Roddy Piper will be at Rock and Shock. The man who made wearing kilts popular again. The man who cracked a coconut over Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka’s head, then mashed a banana in his face in what may have been the most politically incorrect moment in entertainment history. The man who shaved the Haiti Kid’s hair. Yeah, Piper gets a little horror convention stroke by having appeared in John Carpenter’s film They Live, but we all know what fans of the incomparable host of Piper’s Pit remember Roddy for, and that’s his time in the squared circle.

Also appearing will be Chromeskull himself, Nick Principe. Starring as the killer in both Laid to Rest and Chromeskull: Laid 2 Rest 2, Principe has a memorable look, chrome-headed or not! Nick has four films that are either in pre-production, post-production or currently filming so it’s a good time to meet with the man as he begins to climb the ladder of fame.

And just announced is the world premiere screening of Inkubus! The film stars Robert Englund, William Forsythe, Jonathan Silverman and Joey Fatone. It was written by Carle Dupre and directed by Glenn Ciano. Inkubus is slated for an October 28 theatrical release, but attendees of Rock and Shock will be getting it two weeks early!

Event tickets are on sale now. Visit the Rock and Shock website for more info.
