Doug Jones is one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets. While the horror world knows and loves him for his work in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, Hocus Pocus, and a great many more movies, there are still lots of people outside of our community probably wouldn’t even recognize his name, much less his face. His ability to, essentially, shape shift from one fantastical character into another has made him a top choice to work with, leading to him appearing in over 150 productions. But who is Doug Jones when not in costume?
The folks over at The Great Big Story have put together a short mini-documentary/interview with Jones where he gets to talk about his career, how he got to where he is, what it’s like in those costumes, and what this kind of work has allowed him to do. It’s a fun little dive into his world, complete with behind-the-scenes footage, and we get to see the joy and love of a man who has set our imaginations alight for years.
