There’s a Fish Man on the Loose in Wild Eye Releasing’s Soft Matter

Thanks to Rue Morgue, we’ve can share the first trailer for Wild Eye Releasing’s upcoming creature featureĀ Soft Matter.

Joblo exclusively revealed the poster for the film, and I’m sure I can’t be the only one who thinks that the creature on display looks a hell of a lot like the fish man played by Doug Jones in Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water (who in turn, looked a hell of a lot like Gill-man from the Creature from the Black Lagoon movies), although unlike the creature in The Shape of Water, the monster in Soft Matter is not interested in pursuing a relationship or making bald men regrow their hair, and instead is only concerned with hunting down and slaughtering two graffiti artists who break into the abandoned research facility where it resides.

Soft Matter is director Jim Hickcox’s debut film and stars Ruby Lee Dove II, Hal Schneider, Mary Anzalone, Catherine Grady, Sam Stinson, Devyn Placide, and Mark Blumberg.

Keep an eye out for this one later this year.
