Battleship. The Haunted Mansion. The Pirates of the Caribbean. Will the adaptations never cease? True some attractions like The Haunted Mansion and Pirates have great possibility for story telling, and some like Battleship seem so completely pointless it’s mystifying. One has to wonder what grouping Disneyworld’s Matterhorn Ride will fall into.

That’s right, kids! Strap into your faux bobsled because Buena Vista is working on a feature version of the Matterhorn rollercoaster ride which has been part of Disneyland’s Fantasyland section since 1959. Yep. You read that right.

The studio has hired Jason Dean Hall to write a script for the project, which has a working title of The Hill. The idea is to do a thrilling, fast-paced movie centering on five young adventure seekers who, for mysterious reasons, are called to the top of the mountain and encounter Yetis on the journey down.

Somewhere … right now … the Foywonder is either high-fiving strangers or beating his face against the wall.
