Dread Central has gotten wind of a secretive project being developed entitled The Profane Exhibit, a new anthology film dealing with the nature of corruption that looks to be a no-holds barred shocker. Although just a few slivers of information have been leaked about this ten-part compilation, what we’ve seen thus far indicates some serious pushing of the boundaries of good taste, and we’ve got high hopes for it.

Three of the film’s ten directors have been announced, and it seems to be a true rogues’ gallery running the show at The Profane Exhibit. Try these names on for size:

Directing a segment entitled Manna, straight from one of the most visually disturbing horror films ever created, August Underground’s Mordum, is Michael Todd Schneider. That name alone should be enough to curl the toes of even the most hardened viewer. But that’s just the beginning.

Manna stars AmberLynn Walker (Guinea Pig) and international fetish model Madeleine Horn with a score by Sebastian Komor. FX are done by Autumn Cook (Theater Bizarre) and Jerami Cruise (Murder Set Pieces and The August Underground Series [holy crap, that’s quite the resume!]).

But the trauma doesn’t stop there. The second director named is Ryan Nicholson, director of Live Feed and Gutterballs. Nicholson’s segment is entitled The Good Wife. It stars Dan Ellis (Gutterballs), 80’s B-movie queen Monique Parent and Tina Krause of Penny Dreadful fame. The score was created by cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy.

And rounding out this trio of debauchery is Russian director Andrey Iskanov’s Tochka. (These producers are just begging for The Profane Exhibit to be banned everywhere! These directors are merciless!) Iskanov is best known for Philosophy of a Knife and Ingression. The score is by Scott Putesky of Marilyn Manson and Jack Off Jill.

The Profane Exhibit is scheduled for a May, 2012 release. To keep updated on all the news and announcements for the film, check out The Profane Exhibit Facebook page.
