Alien-Inspired Shooter Xeno Crisis Coming to Sega Mega Drive and Dreamcast
If you grew up playing Sega consoles before they became a third-party publisher, you might want to try to fight back a huge nerd boner because British developer Bitmap Bureau has announced a new game for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Dreamcast called Xeno Crisis.
As you can tell from its name, Xeno Crisis is heavily inspired by the Alien franchise. If the name wasn’t obvious enough, the creatures that you’ll be facing in Xeno Crisis look so damn similar to the Xenomorphs from the classic series of sci-fi horror films that it’s almost surprising that Fox (or Disney, who now own the franchise) didn’t contact their lawyers.
Either way, if you’re a fan of retro gaming, you can head to Kickstarter to help fund Xeno Crisis, and rejoice that new life is finally being breathed into Sega’s classic console systems. You’ll also have to do a lot of breathing to blow the dust off the cartridge, but I digress. You can enjoy some alien-hunting gameplay from Xeno Crisis in the footage below.
