I’m sure we must have some night shift workers out there reading Dread Central. You know how sometimes you drag yourself into work feeling like a zombie? Well, the makers of The Night Shift know the feeling so well they’ve based an entire film around it.
The Night Shift is a horror-comedy which was recently picked up by R-Squared Films and is due for DVD release on October 25. It’s a tongue-in-cheek film about the rigors of being undead, guarding a cemetery and (believe it or not) trying to get the girl. (Are you kidding me, are we still doomed to chase tail post-mortem? Dammit, I was hoping to be over it by then).
This sounds like an entertaining, Cemetery Man-like film. Read on for more info on the upcoming release.
From the Press Release
Fighting Owl Films is pleased to announce that The Night Shift has been acquired by R-Squared Films for distribution. Set to be released in fall 2011, the film has been met with critical acclaim and positive response from fans.
The Night Shift is a supernatural-adventure-comedy about Rue Morgan, the undead night watchman at Pinewood Oaks Cemetery. Rue, along with his buddy Herb, a limbless corpse, spends his nights trying to keep the cemetery’s cantankerous residents in and his days dreaming of a date with hard-nosed day-shifter Claire. It’s an okay afterlife until a scourge of supernatural occurrences leaves Rue not only watching the cemetery but also watching his back!
