Producer Jonathan Sothcott dropped us a line today with an update on Martin Kemp’s Stalker along with a few exclusive stills featuring Jane March and ex-Hammer horror actress Linda Hayden. There’s also a bit of news for those of you in the UK planning to attend Film4 Frightfest 2011.

Kemp’s feature film directorial debut is set to stalk cinemas across the UK from October 10th, ahead of its DVD release on October 17th. Sothcott tells us, “We are now gearing up for Stalker’s UK theatrical release in October, and the response has been fantastic. It’s really encouraging seeing people getting enthusiastic about an old fashioned psycho-thriller that doesn’t have a huge cast. Martin has written [with Phill Barron] and directed a really compelling movie that wrings every bit of tension out of the creepy story.

He continues, “We are working with our friends at FrightFest to give attendees a special treat… there’s 2000 sexy postcards of the Stalker poster headed their way, and 200 have been signed by Martin Kemp. There’ll be various Black and Blue Films actors at the festival, too, as we’re also promoting Elfie Hopkins and Strippers vs. Werewolves there.

Check out the Stalker goods below, and look for more on all Black and Blue’s projects soon.

Synopsis
Following a stress-induced breakdown after producing a bestseller, writer Paula Martin (Anna Brecon) retreats to Bidford House, her childhood holiday home, to get away from it all and begin work on her next novel. However, the old house is full of secrets and mystery that distract and disturb the fragile Paula. She calls her agent for help to take the pressure off, and Linda (Jane March) arrives, appearing to be a godsend who can help get Paula back on track.

But all is not as it seems. Is Linda a serial killer who’s been stalking Paula for years? With slimy journalist Robert Gainer (Billy Murray) seemingly on a mission to ruin Paula with a story of her breakdown, it’s left to her analyst, Leo Fox (Colin Salmon), to race to her rescue … but will he arrive in time?
