If you had told me when Paul WS Anderson’s Death Race came out that it was destined to spawn a direct-to-DVD franchise, I would have rolled my eyes. Shows what I know. The Death Race franchise carries on with a third installment…and a familiar name in the director’s chair.
Arrow in the Head reports that Death Race 2 director Roel Reine has signed on to direct Part 3, which will see Luke Goss returning as “Frankenstein” from the DVD sequel. DR2 scribe Tony Giglio is back also to pen the script.
Here’s what to expect from Death Race 3.
Death Race 3 will take place in a different prison in Africa, where the iconic character Frankenstein (played by Luke Goss) has to race his fellow prisoners in all newly designed and newly built ‘Death Race Cars’.
The great Danny Trejo and the lovely Tanit Phoenix will also be returning to reprise their roles for this latest DVD sequel shooting November in South Africa.
In other news, still no DVD sequels to the Prom Night remake. Am I the only one surprised by this?
