Chilling. That’s the only word that comes to mind when describing the look of terror on Gwyneth Paltrow’s face in one particular new image from the new virus run amok thriller, Contagion. Yes, it’s fake but we’d still like her to see a doctor … just in case!
In a recent interview with The New York Times Sue Kroll, president for movie marketing at Warner, said the studio was not specifically seeking horror fans but would advertise to a wide audience. Over the next week or two, that means expanding the scare factor with bus posters and billboards that will feature, among other things, a gasping, bug-eyed Ms. Paltrow beneath a legend that warns potential moviegoers to steer clear of one another. “Don’t talk to anyone,” the posters say. “Don’t touch anyone.”
Outstanding!
In theaters September 9th, Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Josie Ho, Demetri Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Bryan Cranston, and Elliott Gould all star.
