Fresh out of Santa Monica’s American Film Market, we’ve got some news for all you Troma fans! I got the chance to sit down with Lloyd Kaufman, who not only gave me some fun information but also shared with us a gorgeous poster for Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV ahead of it hitting theaters for the first time in Germany! You can see the strangely beautiful, although still quite gruesome and disgusting poster below.

We’ve also exclusively learned that Troma is doing its own version of The Tempest, which Kaufman tells me will be in the style of Tromeo and Juliet! We weren’t told when the film will come out, but Kaufman seems really excited about returning to the world of Troma-meets-Shakespeare

These bits of news comes in the midst of The Toxic Avenger Musical, written by Joe DiPietro with music by Tony Award winner David Bryan (Bon Jovi), which is playing in London’s Arts Theatre.

Some other noteworthy pieces of information: Return to Return to Nuke ‘Em High AKA Volume 2 will be opening in February 2018 at two Laemmle theaters in Los Angeles. Additionally, Kaufman wanted to make sure you all knew about two really important streaming channels for Troma…

The first is Troma Now, which is a paid subscription service that brings two to three world premieres per month as well as curated classics from the Troma library that are handpicked by Kaufman himself.

The second is Troma’s YouTube channel, where they upload their movies for people to watch for free. The channel is updated week-by-week with films as well as “Kabukiman’s Cocktail Corner” and Kaufman’s own series “Make Your Own Damn Movies” lessons.
