Okay, so this is more insight as to what to expect from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D when it hits theatres than it is news, but we know you guys like to be kept in the loop about everything! An open casting call is going on right now. Read on for the details.

The filmmakers are looking for 18- to 29-year-old guys and girls to be extras in a pool party sequence for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D in Shreveport, LA, on Monday, 08/01/11. It’s likely to be a night shoot, and participants must be willing to work in their bathing suits.

Leatherface at a pool party? Hey, it worked for Freddy! Let’s just hope that by the time all is said and done those lovely blue waters are turned deep red.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3DFrom the Press Release: Lionsgate and the filmmakers of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D, the next installment in the long-standing franchise, are pleased to announce the cast of the film, which picks up the story where the original 1974 film left off and will deliver a new chapter in the Leatherface saga with the goal of making it as horrifying as the original — in 3D.

The cast includes an all new actor in the iconic villain role of Leatherface, an exciting cast of principal actors, and featured cameos by several cast members of the original 1974 film, famously directed by Tobe Hooper.

About The Cast
GUNNAR HANSEN, the original Leatherface who has never acted in another Texas Chainsaw franchise film, is set to appear in a cameo along with MARILYN BURNS, the original film’s lead actress, playing the role of Verna Carson. Reprising his role as the Grandfather, JOHN DUGAN also makes his first series appearance since the original film.

Beloved character actor BILL MOSELEY, who played the role of Chop-Top in Tobe Hooper’s 1983 sequel, will play Drayton Sawyer in this film. Moseley will be standing in for Jim Siedow, who previously played the part before his passing in 2003. The two actors appeared together in the 1983 film and were quite comfortable together. Director Luessenhop explains how “Moseley is the perfect choice to capture some of the essence that Siedow had brought to the character.”

Playing Leatherface will be discovery DAN YEAGER. Director John Lussenhop knew he was perfect for the role immediately, after a chance meeting. He describes the 6’6” actor as having “huge farm boy arms, a brooding brow. He’s quiet, circumspect, and immediately struck a menacing chord with me. After five minutes I could no longer think of anyone else for the role.”

ALEXANDRA DADDARIO (PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF, HALL PASS) has been cast in the lead female role of Heather Miller. The story centers around Heather as she makes a trip to small-town Texas to collect her inheritance, unaware that her inheritance includes a live item – her cousin, the notorious serial killer Leatherface.

Rounding out the cast of friends visiting the inherited house are TANIA RAYMONDE (“Lost”), playing the role of Heather’s best friend Nikki, with acclaimed R&B singer TREY SONGZ making his film debut as Heather’s boyfriend, Ryan, and KERAM MALICKI-SANCHEZ (PUNISHER: WAR ZONE and JOHN Q) as Ryan’s friend. SHAUN SIPOS (“Melrose Place,” FINAL DESTINATION 2 and the upcoming HICK) plays Darryl in the film, a hitchhiker along for the ride who knows more than he lets on.

An all new cast of law enforcement and government professionals take on Leatherface in this chapter of the saga: THOM BARRY (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, INDEPENDENCE DAY, “Cold Case,”) plays the role of Sheriff Hooper with PAUL RAE (TRUE GRIT) in the role of town mayor Burt Hartman. SCOTT EASTWOOD (FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, INVICTUS, GRAN TORINO) will portray Deputy Carl Hartman, a young officer who is battling a powerful attraction to Heather while hunting Leatherface. Noted character actor RICHARD RIEHLE (OFFICE SPACE) will play Sawyers family attorney Farnsworth.

I don’t know about you, but I love the films of Dario Argento and Mario Bava. And thus, I’m excited about Francesco Mirabelli’s upcoming Italian horror film The Antithesis. Not only is the film inspired by Argento and Bava, but its score is composed by Claudio Simonetti, who some of you may know better as the keyboardist for Goblin.

The film is directed by Francesco Mirabelli from a screenplay written by Mirabelli, Francesco Basso, and Stefano Ricciardi. It stars Crisula Stafida, Marina Loi, and Nives Gaudioso. The score is composed by Claudio Simonetti, keyboardist for Goblin. BayView Entertainment releases the film on DVD July 17th.

Ridley Scott Teases THE TERROR Season 2

Published

on

This past week we saw AMC and executive producer Ridley Scott’s horror series The Terror wrap up its first season. And, no spoilers, but the series seems to have come to an end. But no worries, the show was always meant to be an anthology, so what do the powers that be have in mind for season 2?

Well, Scott recently spoke with IndieWire and said the Franklin expedition won’t be followed up on and that they’re looking at several different possibilities for a second season.

You wouldn’t follow this through, I don’t think,” Scott said. “This is complete, but they’re looking for another season of something else. It doesn’t have to even be period, right? It could be modern. So right now, we’re circling the wagons on several things.”

What would you like to see The Terror season 2 cover? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

The ten-episode series stars Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies, Ciarán Hinds, Paul Ready, Adam Nagaitis, Nive Nielsen, Ian Hart, and Trystan Gravelle. It’s produced by Scott Free, Emjag Productions, and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios. In addition to Scott, the series is executive produced by David Kajganich, Soo Hugh, David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert, and Guymon Casady.

AMC hasn’t renewed the series for a second season yet.

Synopsis:

British Royal Navy Capt. Sir John Franklin is nearing the end of an uneven career. Described as “a man everyone likes, but no one respects,” Franklin has seen men die under his leadership on previous expeditions, and now he would like to retire with honors by discovering the Northwest Passage. Guiding the HMS Erebus into uncharted territory, Franklin’s most perilous journey yet pushes his crew to the brink of extinction. Frozen, isolated and stuck at the end of the earth, the men have been put in horrible danger by their commander’s Victorian hubris. A struggle to survive ignites infighting, and Franklin must try to undo the damage he has caused.
