Resident Evil 2: The Board Game Smashes Its Kickstarter Goal in One Hour

We still don’t know when we’ll be seeing the video game remake of Resident Evil 2, although a board game adaptation of the classic survival horror title has launched on Kickstarter.
Created by the UK-based Steamforged Games, who also made the Dark Souls board game, Resident Evil 2: The Board Game will be a cooperative strategic experience for up to four players set in a zombie-infested Racoon City. The stunningly detailed miniature figures will include the four playable characters of Ada Wong, Leon S Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Robert Kendo, in addition to some of the most famous monsters to appear in the original game, including zombies, Lickers, the T-103 Tyrant, the T-00, and the deformed William Birkin. If you’re a Resident Evil fan, I know you’re practically drooling after these.
In addition to the standard edition, Resident Evil 2: The Board Game will also be available in a Kickstarter exclusive retro pack, which will have an art-style identical to the original 1998 video game. Once again, if you’re a fan of the franchise, I can tell how desperately you want this.
Given the gigantic popularity of the franchise, it comes as no surprise that the game hit its goal of £150,000 in less than one hour after it launched on Kickstarter, and has already reached all of its stretch goals. It looks like the campaign will prpbably surpass £1 million before it ends in 27 days’ time.
