We learned recently that Orlando Bloom will star in and produce Amazon Studios’ new hourlong drama “Carnival Row,” and now word has come as to who one of his co-stars will be… Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) will appear opposite Bloom in the eight-episode fantasy-noir, according to Deadline.

“Carnival Row,” from Legendary Television, is executive produced by writer/showrunner Rene Echevarria, Travis Beacham (whose feature script the project is based on), and director Paul McGuigan.

Bloom will star as Rycroft Philostrate, a police inspector who must solve the murder of a faerie showgirl on the eponymous Carnival Row, while Delevingne will play Vignette Stonemoss, a faerish refugee who flees her war-torn homeland to come to the Burgue, where she must contend with not only with rampant human prejudice against her kind but also the secrets that have followed her to this new land.

The project will start production this fall in Prague for a 2019 premiere.

Synopsis:
“Carnival Row” is set in a neo-Victorian city. Mythical creatures fleeing their war-torn homeland have gathered in the city, and tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing immigrant population. We follow the investigation of a string of unsolved murders which are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists.
