Last Tuesday, August 22, 2017, history was made. The fourth film in the Hatchet franchise, Victor Crowley (review), premiered before a crowded theater of fans and fellow filmmakers who were expecting to watch the original 2007 Hatchet film in honor of its tenth anniversary.

I had the honor of introducing director Adam Green, just as I did ten years prior, and I also got to play host during the Q&A. This is the first time this footage has been seen in its entirety beyond the event, and we’re happy to share it with you guys. Bear in mind the video only captures a tenth of the energy in the room that night, but even that’s saying something.

Big thanks to Robert Lucas, whose arm is still numb from holding up my camera to film it.

In addition to the videos, over on the Dread Central Facebook page you’ll find hundreds of images from the evening, both red carpet and otherwise. These come courtesy of Dark Sky Films.

Writer/director Green explains, “I couldn’t be happier to partner with Dark Sky Films and bring Victor Crowley back to horror fans around the world. Resurrecting the series for its tenth anniversary was our way of saying thank you to everyone in The Hatchet Army and beyond who have supported this series since its inception. This bloodbath is for all of you.

Victor Crowley stars Kane Hodder, Parry Shen, Laura Ortiz, Dave Sheridan, and Brian Quinn. The film will hit select U.S. theaters this October as part of the “Victor Crowley Road Show,” which will see Adam Green and members of the cast travel with the film. They’ll introduce the movie at special one-night-only screenings across America.

Synopsis:
In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy; but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
