We still really don’t know a damned thing about Ridely Scott’s upcoming film, Prometheus, other than it could be an Alien prequel and it has a killer cast. Will we get any Xenomorph action? Hell, will we get any monster action at all?
MTV caught up with creature designer Neville Page to see what they could drag out of him.. “My approach is nervous,” he said with a smile. “I approach Ridley with great nervous energy because it is such an undertaking. [‘Alien’] was the movie that inspired everything for me, not just creature design, but filmmaking in general,” he admitted. “It is a huge undertaking to try and take it to the next level; to make Ridley proud, to make [H.R.] Giger proud, there’s a lot involved with that.”
As for the CG vs. practical FX usage in the movie …
“I don’t know, I can only assume that it’s going to be like with [‘Green Lantern’],” said Page, who worked his magic with creature design on Hal Jordan and CO. “[We’ll] use whatever it takes to make it look as good as it needs to look.”
Prometheus stars Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, and Michael Fassbender. Look for it in theaters on June 8th, 2012.
