For the Third Time … Halloween 3D is a “LONG Way Off”

You know what drives us crazy sometimes? Reporting news. Not that we mind doing it; in fact, we love it. It’s just that weeding through all of the bullshit to bring you guys the truth is sometimes a herculean task. Case in point: Halloween 3D.
Recently (as in last friggin’ week), in promotion of Drive Angry, we spoke to both writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier, who both confirmed to us that Halloween 3D most likely will happen after the duo (who collaborated on both My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry) finish with their upcoming reimagining of Hellraiser.
We thought that was clear enough, but apparently traffic mongering rumors have sprung up stating that the film has been greenlit. So once again … for those playing along …
Will the movie happen? “I think Halloween III will happen once we’re done with Hellraiser,” says Farmer. “I know we’ve spoken to Bob (Weinstein) and he’s still very much on board to make that movie happen, and I know we are, too, but I think it’s going to be a long ways off before we start working on Halloween III”.
When actual news breaks regarding the sequel, we’ll have it for you here. In the interim don’t believe everything that you read.

Hope for good things in the Dread Central forums!
