American Horror Story: Cult – New Artwork, Teasers, Fan Gathering, and a Few More Details

We have a boatload of new assets for the upcoming “American Horror Story: Cult” for you today so let’s get right to it! On tap are another poster; more teasers, including a few script pages (from unlocking this week’s tasks on the official “American Horror Story: Cult” website); info on a gathering taking place this Friday in Philly; and a few more details about what the season will be about.

Let’s start with those last two items… There’ll be a fan get-together this Friday, August 11th, at 7:00 PM in Philadelphia’s Dilworth Park. We’re not entirely sure what will be taking place so if you attend, be sure to share what happens with us here!

As for those additional details that have been revealed over the past day or two, per Nerdist, at the recent “Women of American Horror Story” panel held on the Fox Studios lot during the 2017 Television Critics Association summer press tour, new cast member Alison Pill teased that “this particular season has a streak of paranoia that’s infectious.”

Executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall explained that although early reports were that the season begins on the night of the recent US Presidential election, “[I]t’s more about what’s going on in our world around us [than it is about Trump vs. Clinton]… we talk about the streak of paranoia, and our idea launches from that point. It’s not what you think it is, and I’m not trying to be cagey. As with all good horror and suspense, knowing less is actually so much more because it’s going to unfold for you. It’s an element in our launch point.”

Woodall also succinctly said that fans can expect to see: “Bloody tension, a well-cooked meal, and an exciting trip to the grocery store.”

Pill was joined by fellow “AHS” newcomers Billie Lourd and Leslie Grossman along with vets Sarah Paulson and Adina Porter. Paulson joked that a married lesbian couple would be played by herself and Pill, following up her comment with, “That may or may not be true.”  (Writer’s Note: Their characters do share the same last name so at this point, anything is possible!)

Porter revealed that she’s playing a broadcast news journalist while Lourd, who first worked with Murphy on “Scream Queens,” promised, “This is straight-up horror drama. It’s definitely less of my comedic side, more of my real dark side. This time I actually have emotions, which is real exciting for me. [It’s] extremely different [from ‘Scream Queens’]. ‘Scream Queens’ is completely hyper real. This show is based in insane reality that I don’t want to be a part of. My character is more of a human this time.”

And that’s about it as far as intel on “Cult,” but below you’ll find those script pages we mentioned, which provide a few additional clues. Check ’em out along with another poster that debuted on the show’s Twitter feed and the latest video teasers from
