Back in November of 2014, we wrote about 30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story, the documentary that delved into the world of the grotesque yet gleefully macabre Topps trading cards. It’s been a long ride but the time has come to celebrate as Indican Pictures has announced that the film will launch in several theaters starting August 18th and continue throughout August and September. On September 20th, 30 Years of Garbage: The Garbage Pail Kids Story will show in front of an even larger audience as the film is launched nationwide throughout the United States on VOD and DVD platforms.
The documentary was written and directed by Jeff Zapata and Joe Simko and includes interviews with Art Spiegelman, John Pound, James Warhola, Adam F. Goldberg, Tom Bunk, Jay Lynch, Mark Newgarden, Gary Gerani, Len Brown, Mackenzie Astin, Debbie Lee Carrington, and Arturo Gil.
