DVD and Blu-ray Releases: July 18, 2017

Welcome back, everyone. We’ve only got 9 releases this week, so there isn’t much to talk about. The Night of the Sorcerers/The Loreley’s Grasp double-feature Blu-ray may not be out until August 8th, but there are a few places listing it for today. In any case, I will have it listed again on the 8th to be on the safe side.
Probably the most anticipated title of the week is Resident Evil: Vendetta. All of you true collectors out there can pick up a special SteelBook that is only available at Best Buy. I’ve included that link below. You can check out our review here.
If you like a little bit of comedy (and maybe even musicals), there are two titles hitting shelves this week that may be up your alley. The first is My Fair Zombie, which is exactly what it sounds like: a musical-comedy-horror film. The second is Another Evil, which will be getting both the Blu-ray and DVD treatments.

Animosity (2013)

Another Evil (2017)

Dan considers calling the whole thing off, but it quickly becomes apparent that a great evil has embedded itself in his home, and that the fate of his entire family is at stake.
Deftly mixing sardonic wit with the supernatural and not-so supernatural, Carson Mell’s Another Evil is uncomfortably comical proof that more than just ghosts can haunt a house.

Lake Alice (2017)

While meeting his girlfriend Sarah’s family for the first time, Ryan Emerson must prove his intentions and win the approval of her father, Gregg, while he masks jealousy for Sarah’s ex-fling Tyler. As the Thomas family settles in, things start to happen around the cabin: strange footprints by the window, noises from outside, and a bitter animosity from the locals, including law enforcement. As a blizzard descends on Lake Alice, so does the evil from behind the camera, as the Thomas family is hunted down one by one. The family struggles to stay alive as their numbers slowly dwindle.
My Fair Zombie (2014)

A group of explorers arrive in Africa to study the wildlife in the same area where a brutal native ritual occurred in 1910. All is tranquil until night falls and distant drumming draws one of the female members of the group to investigate the jungle. From there, a nightmare will be awakened … a nightmare of zombie natives and scantily-clad vampire women who prowl the moonlight jungle in search of fresh blood and more victims to sacrifice.
The Loreley’s Grasp
In a town by the Rhine river, young women are turning up dead … savagely torn to pieces and their hearts missing. Concerned that whatever beast is doing these horrible murders will end up attacking the female students, a nearby school for women hires a hunter to find and kill the creature. The hunter will soon find out that this is no ordinary beast that craves human hearts, but rather a deceptive, alluring and mysterious being (The Loreley) who is already looking for another heart to use in a gruesome ancient ritual.
