The Control Group DVD Cover Has Been Hiding a Child’s Play Easter Egg

Peter Hurd’s film The Control Group, which was his writer/directorial debut, has been out for a couple of months. However, an interesting little Easter Egg slipped past us until just the other night when we noticed that the DVD cover features a charming nod to one of the actors in the film.
The Control Group stars Monique Candelaria, Ross Destiche, and Jenna Enemy as well as a certain Mr. Brad Dourif. That name should be familiar to many of you as he is the voice of Chucky, the killer doll from the Child’s Play franchise. As it turns out, the DVD cover for The Control Group has been showing us Chucky this entire time!
If you look at the cover, you’ll see a young woman holding a knife in her right hand and a doll in her left. The doll’s upper third is obscured by the woman’s leg but you can clearly see the feet and overalls, all of which match the coloring of Chucky’s Good Guy Doll getup. It’s a cute and clever way to show appreciation to Dourif, who has brought so much to the horror genre over the years!
