NECA Gives us the Fred Krueger Figure We’ve Been Dreaming About

It’s almost been a full year and the horrendous design of Platinum Dunes’ Freddy Krueger has entirely faded from memory. Action figure maestros NECA seem to feel similarly for the amount of Englund-era Freddy they’re readying for 2011. Each of their upcoming offerings are must-owns, but this is the one we’ve been waiting for.

NECA has unveiled plans for a bona fide Fred Krueger action figure – the truest plastic interpretation of the original 1984 Fred to date. Not the lack of stripes on his sleeves, as well as the attention to detail in the facial sculpt. NECA have been doing great work for years now, but their upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street series looks to be their crowning achievement.

I want this – and the rest of the Freddy figures – so very badly. They’re so great I can’t wait to see what else NECA has in store for horror fans. Hopefully they’ll go ahead and give me a Roy Burns from Friday the 13th – A New Beginning one day soon. Until then my life will be incomplete.
