Oats Studios Releases New Video to…Sell an Odd Kitchen Utensil?
Just last week, Neill Blomkamp’s Oats Studios released their first short in the form of Rakka, a haunting post-apocalyptic sci-fi vision where humans were on the brink of extinction thanks to an invading alien race. A couple of days ago, they released their next short, which is wildly different in tone but no less surreal in visuals.
Titled Damasu 950, the short is basically a commercial from the Home Shopping Network. It shows two hosts attempting to convince audiences to purchase a new kind of carving tool for their home kitchen needs. The gag is that this carving tool is basically a chainsaw with knives attached to it that is able to chop as well as saw through whatever produce or meat you throw in front of it. Of course, with something so powerful and unwieldy, there are bound to be some…problems.
