Rest in Peace: Powers Boothe

Very, very sad news to post as it’s been confirmed by Beau Bridges that fellow actor Powers Boothe has passed away earlier today at the age of 68. His passing was confirmed by The Wrap, who got word from his longtime publicist that the actor died in his sleep of natural causes.

Born in 1948 in Snyder, Texas, Boothe acting career primarily began in the early 1980’s. Through his career, he appeared in such films as Stalingrad, Tombstone, Red Dawn, The Avengers, and shows like “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “24”. For horror fans, he was known for his roles as FBI Agent Wesley Doyle in the 2001 psychological horror/thriller Frailty as well as Senator Roark in 2005’s Robert Rodriguez-directed Sin City.

This news comes entirely out of the blue and we’re shocked. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family in this terrible time.
