American McGee Uploads Rare Animatics From Alice: Madness Returns

Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore American McGee’s Alice games. The 2000 title American McGee’s Alice is still one of my favorite games of all time and the 2011 sequel is one of the most visually beautiful and imaginative games I’ve seen released. While I haven’t seen it, I can only imagine that Alice: Otherlands, the animated short film duo that acts as a sequel to Madness Returns and caps that trilogy, is just as inventive and wonderfully phantasmagoric.

Recently, McGee uploaded several rare animatics from the making of Madness Returns, each offering a glimpse into the creation process of the game. Additionally, McGee tried uploading an internal trailer for Madness Returns when the game was still being called Alice II. However, immediate copyright claims took that down. Hopefully those claims will be rescinded so we can see the trailer prior to whatever changes came about for the final version!

In the meantime, venture down the rabbit hole of these animatics!
