Eyegasm: The Best and Worst Home Video Cover Art – 4/25/17

Sometimes artists churn out the kind of cover art that makes you drool… It doesn’t matter what the content of the actual film is, if the cover art is amazing, as horror fans we’ll likely watch on principle alone. When it’s bad, however… holy shit.

With so many movies coming out each week, we decided to dole out our best and worst picks for you to look at and judge for yourselves. Let us know what YOU think in the comments below.

BEST:

Caltiki: The Immortal Monster
Distributed by Arrow Video

Let us be clear… we have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the artwork for the classic blob of the jungle flick Caltiki, but we love every pixel of it. Weird shroomin’ fun!

Caltiki

WORST:

Frightmares
Distributed by Screamtime Films

At first we thought, “Wait… is this a film from the 60s?” In which case you could kind of excuse the excessively retro design of the artwork for Frightmares (except for that ridiculously awful title font). Instead we find that it’s a anthology flick from 1997. No excuses. Your artwork sucks. So badly that despite seeking it out, we couldn’t even find a high-res version of it to share. Le sigh.

Frightmares
