We told you a few weeks ago that filmmaker Gregory Plotkin (the Paranormal Activity franchise, Get Out) was circling a new film to direct called Hellfest and now we are happy to exclusively confirm he’s got the gig!
The news was broken during last night’s episode of Brainwaves Horror and Paranormal Talk Radio which featured Plotkin as our guest.
Today we caught up with him briefly for a more official quote. “I’m so excited to jump into Hellfest! This film will be my love letter to Halloween and all the other great horror films I loved growing up. I hope everyone is ready to bring back some old school horror… We’ve got a great team and it’s going to be a scary, fun ride!”
We are so in!
Gale Anne Hurd is producing via her company Valhalla Motion Pictures. CBS Films president Terry Press is a longtime fan of the Hellfest concept, believing it could spark a horror franchise.
In the movie, a Halloween night of fun turns deadly at a horror theme park when a costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe that it’s all part of the show.
